The document allows to track active trends in the development of maritime transport and trade. The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has demonstrated the global interdependence of states and served to develop new trends. The question was raised about the importance of maritime transport as a key sector for the implementation of supplies in pandemic conditions. The shipping sector needs to prepare for change and adapt to a new format of existence following the COVID-19.
The following programmatic measures were allocated to prepare for life after pandemic:
- Provide support to trade so that it can serve as a real basis for growth and development;
- Change globalization to ensure sustainability;
- Promote technology adoption and digitalization;
- Use data to track the situation and adoption programmatic measures;
- Provide flexibility in maritime transport systems;
- Adaptation to climate change.
