In order to review and justify the design levels on the sections of the internal waterways of the Republic of Belarus, the specialists of the State Administration of Water Transport initiated the hydrological analysis of long-term data for the reference hydrological posts of surface water bodies included in the borders of the internal waterways of the Republic of Belarus.
The last revision and adjustment of the design levels for all surface water bodies included in the inland waterways of the Republic of Belarus was carried out more than 15 years ago. Nevertheless, it is the main reference point in the planning and production of track works, relative to which the specified dimensions of the waterway are set.
The design level is assigned for a long time and its position in height is changed only when the root changes in the level regime of rivers or other important circumstances. In areas of rivers (ples) where dredging operations are carried out in large volumes, it is recommended to check and, if necessary, adjust the position of the design level once every 3-5 years.
